This page is designed to give a fast, readable estimate without replacing a payslip or payroll system.

Always confirm important figures with your employer, payroll provider, accountant, or tax authority.

Methodology

We apply the federal Canada payroll estimate first.

Ontario income tax is added on top of the federal layer.

The Ontario health premium and surtax approximation are included where the salary moves into those ranges.

Assumptions

The Canada calculator annualizes pay first, applies the relevant tax rules, and then converts the result back to the selected pay frequency.

Recurring deductions are estimated on a per-pay-period basis.

TakeHome Grid provides estimates for informational purposes only and does not replace a payslip or employer payroll system.

Federal, Ontario, and Alberta payroll references reflect CRA 2026 payroll deduction tables.

Canada page supports Ontario, Alberta, and a federal-only fallback estimate for launch. Other provinces can be added later through region overrides.

Worked example
